The Unguja Resort on the most southern point of Zanzibar near Kizimkazi
Mkunguni, will amaze you!
The resort has 10 villa's, from which 7 overlook the sea, build in a
traditional way with palm leave thatched roofs, Makuti's. With the layout of
the lodge the old
Baobab and mango trees in the garden have been preserved.
We find it very special that under one gigantic Makuti roof you find only one
villa! Your villa has a private terrace, a sitting area, an open air shower
and a large sleeping room, on top of which you find a second sleeping room
with a traditional Zanzibari bed under the high roof.
Ralf and Elies involved architect Ivan Sutilla from the start to the finish
with the building of the resort, making no concessions to the original
design. With emphasis on details, they had their own technical staff
build the resort. The Italian milliner designed the interiors.
The village of Kizimkazi Mkunguni, on walking distance from the lodge, is the
starting point for the diving and dolphin tours, but also from the lodge you
can spot dolphins is the bay. The resort has it's own Padi diving centre
with a Belgian dive master, but if Ralf can find some sparetime he will
certainly take you on a dive tour.
From the lodge you can make a interesting guided tour to the village with one
of the employees of the lodge.
The lodge has an excellent restaurant.
Price indication: € 100 - € 160 per person per night depending on season.
2 persons per villa, half board.
